Talk and Act
The Keytown Cruisers 071 (KTC) is a group of friends in the Leiden area (The Netherlands). 071 is our area code. We all have special or custom bikes like choppers, lowriders or (beach)cruisers. A lot of us are into hiphop. We hang out, work on our bikes and cruise through town. Since 2009 we do bike cruises. This was the 3rd cruise of the Keytown 071 cruises. (18 Okt. 2009) Because of the bad weather we were with a small group (11 persons) and we cut the cruise shorter than planned. We cycled from Leiden Central through Leiderdorp, Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk, Zoeterwoude-Dorp and back to Leiden. The music in the video is “Tuff Crew – My part of town”. From the album “Danger Zone” (1988). Warlock Records.

Peter Marker Damascus Folder: Being a fan of Peter Marker’s work, I snagged this puppy up real fast when I saw it come on sale on Bladeforums. Peter is one of the best values in Damasteel folders out there, bar none. He is a relatively low-key maker from Australia, and does some fantastic work.
Spyderco Merlin Knife C21/C08: Yet another Spyderco, same FRN construction, though this Merlin here is a bit of a rarer knife. The Merlin is basically an FRN version of the Harpy, with slight differences in blade steel, shape and thickness. This Spyderco Merlin is a plain edge model, which is extremely rare as they are no longer made.
Darren Chard Mokume Damascus Wharncliffe: Here I have another peice by Canadian Knifemaker Darren Chard. I still consider Darren one of the best least known knifemakers out there. Everything that comes out of his shop is perfect. His fit and finish is among the best, bar none. He is also always up to a challenge, and creates knives because he enjoys it, not because it is profitable.
Cold Steel Night Force Folder: This is the first Cold Steel knife I have reviewed on this site, and is one of not many that I have owned. I have never been a big fan of the company, as I see their high end knives as overpriced, and their lower end knives inferior to FRN Spydercos of a similar pricepoint. Having said that, I was quite pleased with this Night Force knife that I received in a trade.
Spyderco Paramilitary D2 Foliage Green: I haven’t picked up a new Spyderco in a while, but every time I walk into the local knife shop, I see all their Spydercos displayed, and after a while I just can’t help myself. This time it was a Foliage Green Paramilitary that caught my eye, in the limited edition CPM D2 steel configuration. This is a very cool version of the Paramilitary!
NUKO Key Fob Self Defense Tool: Hey Everyone! Today I would like to introduce a neat little companion that could give us all a little added advantage in this world we live in. I picked up this little number at The Lanyard Zone for about $30 Shipped anywhere in Canada and U.S.
Spyderco Vesuvius Knife C66PBK: The Spyderco Vesuvius is one of the few FRN handled Spydies to have a smooth contoured handle, which I really like. It is also designed by Frank Centofante, which I was a bit surprised about. The design is much more in-house looking to me, but either way, I love the look and feel!
Gibo Zakabi Framelock Folder Knife: Gibo Zakabi is actually two knifemakers, George Gibo and Carl Zakabi, and their collective products are produced under the name Kanaka Tech. All the knives are collaborations between the two Hawaiian knifemakers, and are very well made. I’ve had this knife for many years, and enjoyed every minute of owning it.
