All Time Great Dance Movies

Dirty Dancing

This is one of those classic romantic movies and it has since gone on to become the biggest dance movie of all time making $214 million as of 2009, a truly remarkable feat. It was actually the first movie ever to sell over a million copies on video and the finale has been described as the most goosebump-inducing dance scene in movie history. This movie was actually choreographed by Kenny Ortega who is very famous for the next movie on the list too.

A Musical, Set In A High School?

For a television movie this did very well indeed bringing the most views to a Disney Channel movie ever with a whopping 7.7 million views in the US. Many people actually call the plot to this a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, on the downside they do not drop down dead and there were two more made.

Stepping Up

This 2006 movie earned $21million in its opening weekend and was directed by Anne Fletcher and of course starred Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewen who have since gone on to get married after meeting on this film set. Learn to dance lessons must have come in very useful as without this they would not have met, they are not the types to jet off and go on one of those dancing holidays.

Footloose

Kevin Bacon starred in this 1984 smash hit and it was sure to be a winner. Although this film received many negative criticisms it went on to be a box office smash and really rocketed Bacon to the status that people see him as today.

If you really love all of these movies then why not get out there and take a lesson and get learning?! Book those Torquay Hotels and get dancing!

Why Do Age Groups Dance Differently

If you do not think that the way you dance depends on what age you are then get yourself to a wedding and find out yourself, it is mad!.

So what are the comparisons in the age groups and why are they there?

Children
The children are the funniest and maddest when it comes to dancing as the ywill run in there and have a quick dance and once again run out. It is pretty funny watching my kids dance as they simply run in there for the songs they recognise, dance around a little bit, realise people are watching them and then immediately run out again.

Couples
I have to say I didn’t see one single couple dancing well. A lot of the time you will see at least one of them stepping all over the place and hitting the partner, I am always doing this. Once again you will find that they will have a dance for a few of the classics that they know and then drop out.

20s
Many of the people in their late teens and early 20s were the ones that were on the dance floor the entire time. Although all of the people I saw dancing had the energy they need to Learn To Dance.

Older People
I have to admit, watching my elderly mother and father dance is a very moving thing, all of those Dancing Holidays have really paid off and they are so graceful on their feet. Although elderly people do not stay out to dance long they certainly do it the best.

So book one of those Torquay Hotels and get dancing!
